Samurai Shodown da como resultado un juego impecable lleno de lucha uno a uno, donde principalmente los jugadores que elijamos, tendrán que pelear con alguna clase de arma blanca, excepto una jugadora que solo lo hace con un escudo.

SNK se fajó con un gran estilo a la hora de establecer las batallas uno a uno, dándole un gran énfasis a todo lo que fue el aspecto técnico, cosa que se destaca para un juego en su categoría. Necesitaremos bastante entrenamiento para usar el mando y los combos que este juego implica. No pasa nada si eres un jugador novato pero eso sí, ¡A practicar!

Contaremos con el modelo clásico de 4 botones para dar toda la acción, donde cortaremos, daremos sablazos y lo mejor, pura patada por doquier. Me encanta que este juego tenga muchas maniobras que a su vez se combinan con los combos y otros movimientos de los personajes, haciendo que la experiencia de jugar Samurai Shodown sea formidable.

Con este juego no creamos que la dinámica será atacar sin sentido a nuestro oponente. Los desarrolladores se han encargado de darle peso también al uso de estrategia de lucha por parte de nosotros, de tal forma que no podemos atacar y quedar expuestos a que nos golpeen peor. ¡Debemos saber cuándo y cómo atacar para generar el máximo daño!

Depende del personaje que elijamos, tendremos la posibilidad de utilizar combos especiales para cada carácter. Estos combos solo podrán usarse una vez por batalla, pues son ultra-dañinos y llegan a bajar el 50% de vida al impactarnos.

Samurai Shodown ha incorporado algo que ha llamado “Barra de Furia”. El funcionamiento de dicha barra es de acuerdo a la cantidad de veces que hemos sido golpeados. Cuando la barra está al máximo, podremos hacer ataques especiales y nuestros golpes serán más dañinos que sin furia.

En Samurai Shodown tenemos la técnica del desarme, que la usaremos para quitarle todas las armas que pretenda usar contra nosotros nuestro oponente.

La espada relámpago también es otro ataque que al ser activado, despliega escenas de violencia extrema donde seremos atacados mortalmente. Es un ataque con mucha estética y con un aspecto audiovisual destacable.

Contaremos con 16 personajes a elegir, nomina que para algunos puede ser muy escasa. Quizá en los siguientes meses se alargue a 20 personajes con los desbloqueos y todo eso. Cada personaje es único y goza de características personales como ataques y personalidad.

Contaremos con modo historia, donde cada personaje cumple un destino, así como modo contrarreloj, modo tutorial y hasta un versus para que practiquemos combos por horas.

Este juego es un recomendado para los amantes de la lucha tipo arcade, que encontraran un juego lleno de originalidad y técnica, así como de una terminación audiovisual muy fina. Tendremos que pasar muchas horas jugando mientras que nos volvemos a su alta adictividad. No recomendado para jugar con niños.
